If you have a low amount of viewers, kick has confirmed that they will limit the stream to 720p transcoded. If your viewers/chatters pickup, they'll bump it back to 1080p. Max official bitrate is 8k, but I've seen 10k stable regularly.
Definitely keep trying, kick has a lot of good features to it that Twitch doesn’t and once you hit affiliate you’ll notice the difference with subs. I would recommend making content on other platforms also. Whether it just clips from your stream or tutorials!
Third, value proposition. Kick focus their marketing and value only on streamers, not viewers. You have zero incentive to watch Kick instead of any other platform, be it Twitch or Youtube or whatever. The viewers are the real paying customers, not the streamers. And finally, the background.
