Chemistry and WebAssign: Five Tries! I'm getting tons of mistakes on WebAssign because of notational errors, e.g. sub and superscripts for chemical formulas, scientific notation, etc. What really irks me is that I know the answer, but I received no help or tutorials on how to type in the answers in a way that the interface will accept.

What do professors think about Webassign/Pearson? : r ... - Reddit
Hello, I'm a 2nd year Electrical Engineering major, and have now taken many a class where I'm required to purchase access to Webassign, and this other platform called Mastering Physics by Pearson. My question is: Do professors have a favorable view of these learning platforms? I know for certain that us students hate them because: They're expensive as fuck. I had to pay almost $200 for ...

WebAsssign Cheating : r/college - Reddit
I’m in Calculus 3 using WebAssign and yes all my homework, quizzes, and tests grades are high since I’m able to look at homework and the textbooks. However, my exams are in person proctored and those are way lower than everything else.

Thoughts on Webassign? : r/teaching - Reddit
There is nothing in WebAssign that directly prevents a student from pulling out a cellphone and taking a photo of the screen, or (as you say) calling a friend. If you're doing math-based problems (math, physics, chemistry, etc.), you may be able to have it do random values in problems, which can help reduce cheating, but isn't completely fail-safe. For those, you need a proctoring service, but ...

Why do students have to pay Webassign just to do homework? Is ... - Reddit
Long story short, WebAssign provides tight integration with textbooks. More importantly, it provides instructors with a pre setup problem bank that they can assign and students can receive immediate feedback while freeing up TA resources. The cost for this wasn’t on the forefront of many instructors’ minds since they receive free access and students have to pay for it. Plus, the ...

Im posting this on behalf of my gf, her professor stated that while taking an online exam she is able to detect if a new tab is opened or if you navigate away from the test in web courses, is this true? (PS I don't condone cheating, however I feel like this is a bluff and am really curious how the professor could possibly detect something like that)

I really dislike webassign, the format that the answer requires is always differ from what the teacher MIGHT teach you in the online videos so you have to learn it a different way. And the “watch” videos on webassign SUCK so bad. They skip so many parts and just assume you know how to get the answer.
