Liverpool were held to a goalless draw at home by Leeds as 2026 began in frustrating fashion for Arne Slot’s side. It was the first time Liverpool have been involved in a 0-0 draw in the Premier League for 117 matches, as Leeds’ plan worked a treat.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Leed’s in-form striker, started the match on the bench but came on for 20 minutes and found the back of the net only to be judged offside. Liverpool had a reprieve and neither side could go on to force a winning goal.
