The Catholic Church in Seoul celebrated the ordination of its 1,000th priest on February 7, 2025, at Myeongdong Cathedral, officiated by Archbishop Peter Chung Soon-taick. During this ceremony, 26 deacons, including one from the Redemptoris Mater Seminary, received the Sacrament of Holy Orders and became priests, marking a significant milestone for the Archdiocese of Seoul. The Archdiocese now comprises one cardinal, one archbishop, three bishops, and four monsignors. In South Korea, where 52.6
