After Nigel Mansell led early in his Williams‑Honda before retiring with turbo trouble on lap 29, Senna took over and controlled the race for the remaining 49 laps, even setting the fastest lap of the day with a 1:27.685 on lap 72. He crossed the finish line 33 seconds a
